Instructions To Authors
- IJAST processes all manuscripts submitted through online submission mode.
- New authors have toSign up and create their login ID first for the submission.
- Detailed instructions for the authors for preparing manuscripts are available on instructions for author page of IJAST website.
The guidelines given below are to be taken into account while preparing the manuscript, manuscripts on prescribed formats only shall be accepted for external and internal reviews.
The review panel consists of the Editor-in-Chief, one of the Handling Editors and at least two outside reviewers. The identity of the author will be kept confidential from the reviewer panel and vice versa. The authors are discouraged to reveal their name in the text of the manuscript.
The names of potential referees can be given by authors.

Note: Appeal on decisions of review panel will be dealt by Editor-in-Chief.
The authors can insert figures and tables at appropriate locations within the main text of the manuscript.
Guidelines for the preparation of Anonymous Text file: To be sent to review panel
Format: 8.5" x 11" (22 cm x 28 cm) paper (A4 is also acceptable), with margins on all four sides of at least 1.25" (30 mm).
Double-space the text throughout and the following layout:
summary, title and abstract, text, references, figure/ legends/tables and table legends
Title: On first page, short but informative of maximum 100 characters with title on each page as header
Abstract:As a paragraph of 250 words.
Key words are to be listed at the end of the abstract.
Graphical abstract are welcomed in jpeg and tiff format.
Text should start from a separate page.
The text should be readable, and concise.
Line numbers are to be used.
Footnotes/ notes are to be avoided.
American spelling should be used throughout, except in quotations and references. Reserve the use of underlining and italics for scientific species or gene names.
Reserve the use of symbols for variables and constants.
The methods section should be detailed with clear indication of sample size.
Type of study: experimental or observational: to be mentioned clearly.
Appropriate conclusions are to be drawn from drawn from non-significant results.
All references should be referred in the text,by the name of the first author followed by 'et al.', the year of publication is to be given in parentheses, in case of two authors, order should be chronological and alphabetical, for two works of same authors in same year, (a),(b) etc to be given.
Citations should be given alphabetically on a separate sheet, double-spaced and unnumbered.
Reference should be given in the following format;
- Journal article
Author 1, Author 2, Author 3 et al. year. Title of article. Name of the Journal in italics. Vol./issue:page numbers.
- Author 1, editor. Year . Article title. Name of conference; YYYY MMM DD-DD; location. City, State or Country of publication: Publisher's name. page number.
- Author 1, Author 2. year. Title of book. City, State or Country of publication: Publisher's name.
- Author 1, Author2. Year. Title of a chapter: a subtitle. In: editors. Title of book. edition. City, State or Country of publication: Publisher's name. page numbers.
Tables should be typed double-spaced, each on a separate page, and numbered using Arabic numerals; with the use of those horizontal rules only which are necessary for clarity.
Unnumbered footnote can be given with table, below, for explanation notes.
Text related figure legends should be typed on a separate sheet within the manuscript.
All figures, all line drawings, photographs, or diagrams consecutively,should be numberedwith arabic numerals.
Figures should be of following sizes: 85 mm, 129 mm or 177 mm wide by up to 238 mm deep.
Use of color.
Authorscan makeall of their figures in color to enhance the onlineand pdf versions of their articles
Drawings and graphs. All figures should be submitted in electronic format with labels parallel to the axes. Use italic type only to identify variables, constants, and scientific names of genes or species. Typewritten and hand-lettered charts and graphs will not be accepted.
Photographs. Photographs should be sharp, with good contrast between light and dark areas. These photographs must have a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch at their final size.
Cover page and acknowledgments
A full cover page is to be given with the title and the authors' names and affiliations, emails, contact numbers, address, followed by a page with the full acknowledgments.
